At LIGNA 2025, which will take place from May 26 to 30, 2025 in Hanover, WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH will not only present its wide-ranging machine portfolio, but also demonstrate how clever residual wood management and sustainable energy concepts can optimize the day-to-day production of industrial and craft businesses.
Companies aiming to use their wood waste efficiently and sustainably can’t ignore the importance of powerful shredders and briquetting presses. For over 40 years, WEIMA has been developing custom solutions tailored specifically to the needs of carpentry shops, joineries, timber construction companies, furniture and interior manufacturers, sawmills, and other wood-processing industries.
WEIMA relies on a close, cooperative exchange with its customers in order to deliver not only individual machines, but complete system solutions including conveyor technology. This shows that modern manufacturing processes are only successful if all components are optimally matched to each other.
With rising energy costs and increasing environmental regulations, reducing operational expenses is becoming ever more critical for businesses. WEIMA is committed to continuously improving the energy efficiency of its machines.
At LIGNA, the company will unveil a new 11 kW drive option for its popular WL 4 shredder. Thanks to the optimized motor, it’s now possible to achieve similar shredding performance (compared to the 18.5 kW version) while using significantly less energy—making operations more economical. This solution is particularly appealing for small to medium-sized craft businesses looking to cut costs in the long term.
Alongside the WL 4—perfectly suited for carpentry shops, joineries, and timber construction—WEIMA will also present the powerful WLK 1500 single-shaft shredder and the TH 1200 briquetting press at LIGNA, showcasing how even industrial applications can be handled efficiently.
While the WLK 1500 is specifically designed for high throughputs and coarse pre-shredding, the TH 1200 allows customers to compress large volumes of wood waste into high-quality briquettes—ideal for companies wanting to reuse production waste economically or as fuel.
At LIGNA 2025, visitors will have the opportunity to see firsthand the benefits of modern, sustainable wood shredding and briquetting technologies.
