With many thousands of plastic shredders delivered, there are hardly any applications that we have not already implemented. These include classic items such as start-up chunks, crates, pallets, pipes, containers, molded parts and post-consumer waste such as PET bottles or packaging. But also particularly tear-resistant materials such as rubber, fibers and films, aramid, Kevlar or carbon.

When waste becomes raw material

The circular economy starts with us.

WEIMA plastic shredders are extremely flexible and offer different rotor types, rotor geometries and cutting tools. This enables them to properly shred a wide range of thermoplastics such as PE, PP, PVC, PS, PU and PET as well as thermosets and elastomers. Even large-volume hollow bodies, long pipes, massive start-up lumps and other production waste are processed effortlessly.

With over 40 years of experience in the plastics industry, WEIMA shredders can also handle complex materials such as PET bottles, textile fibers, films, insulating materials, floor coverings, crates and containers. Thanks to their performance and flexibility, they help to efficiently shred production waste and reintroduce it into the production cycle. In this way, companies save costs, reduce disposal costs and work more sustainably at the same time.

Advantages of WEIMA plastic shredding

Plastic shredders from WEIMA reduce both disposal costs and the need for expensive new raw materials. By reusing the shredded materials, companies can make their production processes more efficient and sustainable. The powerful, robust and durable WEIMA shredders are ideal for recycling a wide range of plastics.

We have also tried some other brands, but ultimately found that WEIMA best meets our requirements and the material we process.

Mensur Osmani Teamlead, Remondis

Before deciding on a WEIMA shredder, we had some references here in the neighborhood. We contacted our colleagues and asked them: Is the WEIMA shredder as good as everyone says? The answers were consistently positive. That was a decisive factor for us in choosing to work with WEIMA.

Tom Bevers Technical Manager, RKW

We looked at many different potential suppliers for the shredder and ultimately chose WEIMA. And we are very satisfied with it.

Martin Schack Staffeldt Managing Director, Dansk Emballage

From setup to after-sales service, we have great confidence in WEIMA and hope to continue working together for many years to come. WEIMA gave us a good feeling right from the start and enabled us to develop a close, family-like relationship. Whether it's problems, adjustments, or new ideas – there's always a quick response and good cooperation. That's why we chose WEIMA.

Javier Perez Puig Managing Director, WURSI Group

With the W5.18 shredder from WEIMA, we are now ideally positioned to carry out flowerpot recycling efficiently. We are very proud that we can contribute to the circular economy with our plants and that new, recycled products are created with the help of our work.

Sebastiaan Kok Production Manager, Veolia Aufderhaar Kunststof Recycling B.V.

Thanks to the seamless collaboration with the technicians at WEIMA and Wanner, pressing our records is virtually waste-free. We are now making maximum use of our material resources and can deliver a truly sustainable product to our artists. This reflects the spirit of the times and is also economically attractive for us.

Dennis Borst Technical Manager, Record Industry

The WEIMA machine is rated for 8.000 to 10.000 pounds per hour, and we've actually seen that happen, which is one of the biggest impacts of us purchasing this machine. It does what it says it's supposed to do. WEIMA is durable, productive, and a beast of a machine.

In-house recycling solutions

In-house recycling means that waste from production is reused within the company. This saves disposal costs and expensive raw materials. Waste is usually produced during injection molding, when changing materials or in the case of faulty batches. WEIMA offers shredders and granulators. These devices efficiently shred the waste and prepare it for reuse.

Recycling saves money, shortens delivery times and reduces dependence on external plants. WEIMA helps companies to make better use of their resources and work in a more environmentally friendly way.

Post-consumer plastics recycling

We define post-consumer waste as plastic waste from private use. This includes packaging such as yoghurt pots, PET bottles, bags, films, containers, tubes, toys, labels, fibers and textiles. The increase in global consumption is also increasing the amount of plastic waste. Instead of disposing of this in our oceans or landfill, WEIMA shredders are helping to promote alternative solutions. Together with our partners, we develop single or multi-stage processing concepts to sustainably optimize the plastic lifecycle.

Direct return to the production chain

Plastic waste generated during production is becoming increasingly valuable. As a secondary raw material, it can be fed directly back into the production cycle. The first step in this process is the shredding of production waste such as start-up lumps or rejects. WEIMA works closely with customers to find the right solution for a wide range of plastics. In this way, we ensure that even materials that are difficult to process are shredded into high-quality regrind.
